I'm still surprised that people are surprised about this. It's basically Top Gear with an Amazon-sized budget.
And without Chris Evans. Win win.

Good.  Enjoyed it.  Agreed with the above on the "American" and Hammond is more annoying than amusing most of the time, but still overall excellent.

What, so there's still a studio and audience and stuff?

Just watched it - and agree its probably as close to 'old Too Gear' as they could get away with - if anything, it seemed to be more about cars than I'd expected.

I used my ex-wife's Amazon Prime login - I'm not sure I'd pay £79 for it - and I say that as a fan of the three of them (Hammond's goatee is an outrage btw....)

I'm in the mix for tickets for the Loch Ness show too!

Nice one! I found out about it too late, and I'm just along the road. Any idea where the location is? My guess is Fort Augustus based on access, space and backdrop.

I wouldn't pay £79 for TGT exclusively but I think it is worth to have Prime for free next day delivery services. The whole TV and music stuff I consider to be a bonus only .

    Watching it now.

I must say I found the bit where JC gets a hero's welcome after being fired for punching a subordinate a bit rich.

It has the same producer so I'm not surprised that it's similar to the expected TG formula.

  • Very good indeed.  Like a very good TG episode, but a bit better.  Hope they can maintain this level.

Saw it at an event .. Burning Van was genius .. there was some stupid filler .. dead VIPs and the RAF bit should have been cut. Production values are high .. the opening sequence was spectacular and the filming was pure car porn .. shame they had to pander to Porsche, McLaren and Ferrari so we don't really know which is the best car. The Ferrari was the most beautiful so got my vote.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Shock news - BBC completely fucked up the money-printing machine that was Top Gear.

    That intro was awesome!
Cost three million pounds apparently. Some serious wedge but probably worth it.

Enjoyed the show but it did seem to drag on at times.Hammond is definitely the weak link.Trying too hard and failing miserably mostly, though maybe that has always been the case.I know the whole dynamic relies on the three of them working together, but I do wonder if it's time to let him go.I reckon Andy Willman would be a good replacement,he is after all the forth, mostly uncredited member of the team.I used to enjoy his presenting style in the old Top Gear before the reboot.

I liked it but didn't love it.
Sure the RAF bit was a giggle and the Celebrity section was admittedly very funny but so much money spent and so little car time during those stints. The intro took 10 minutes.
It's not a chat show, it's a car show. Maybe next week's will have more car stuff in it.
