I have 3 an MJW Mondiale - Vox AC15 - and Mesa 5/25 Head which I will be selling soon.

That's a lovely trio that would do most genres really, really well.

    • Ampmaker SE5a (kit build)
    • Mesa Express 5:25
    • Blackstar Series One 104/EL34

They've all got their uses and they all get used pretty regularly. Only thing I have. real hankering now is an old Braintree built Selmer because I'd quite like to have a go at working with an old school, single channel, low gain, bare bones vintage voiced beast and I just like the idea of owning something built within a literal stone's throw of where I live...
Don't ask me, I just play the damned thing...

Shiiiiiiiit.... I've mailed Andertons to ask how late I can tell them about cancelling my V40 order. It arrives in their store Aug 1st.

Reason is, a number of guys in our office haven been put on redundancy and things are starting to feel a bit toxic, so I don't know if I can (a) justify the cash and (b) don't want too much to carry if I have to move abroad or elsewhere!

    Definitely keeping the MJW order...!

Pre Peavey buyout Budda SuperDrive II 30w 1x12 combo

^ and that one is for giving reign to the inner Hi Gain teenage cretin, I'm told it has a clean channel but I wouldn't know anything about that

I have a Matrix GT1000FX.  I use an Axe FX 2 + 2x Mesa Recto 2x12s for guitar, and a Sansamp RBI + Hartke Hydrive 410 for bass.

I also have a Micro Cube...

  • Don't gig anymore so the only one's I've hung onto are...
    soldano decatone
    Marshall/metroamp 100w 12series
    Marshall 50w Rockstah build

I run the soldano into a aracom attenuator then a 4x12
The two marshalls are slaved into 2 HH 200w mosfet power amps then to an old marshall 4x12 with greenbacks and jbl 120's

I've never been happy with the sound from small amps at low volume compared to a loaded down 'big' amp, just sounds full, especially with a 4x12 (yes, I know the speakers aren't moving but just sounds better to me).

Know exactly what you mean.....I wanted something from my youth that I used to look at in shop windows and dream...with that old Brit vintage vibe & ended up getting a real nice WEM dominator III.....puts a smile on my face like no other...but I can't work out whether it is genuinely great or whether the nostalgia thing in my head is telling me that it's great....the mind can play many tricks especially when your ears were partially destroyed many years ago by Marshall Majors LOL certainly the WEM & the Engl are the only two keepers I have

Cancel it mate. The mjw will be perfect.

Get an id 60 head until then - you're familiar with it, like the tone and it's a backup.

Er... Only the one proper amp by tomorrow lunchtime!  I don't really count the Roland cube light and the acoustic amp. I have six cabs though! Does they count?

I've just got the old plexi and jcm800 kicking around here - I find that between them they handle my cover band and Slash territory very nicely

I've been thinking about it and while I really would like a v40, I'm going overboard and it's going to cost a lot. I'll wait for my custom amp and get the ID60 head which is value for money and a perfect backup. Good shout .

    6 for me:

    Princeton 68 Custom

    Tweed Blues Junior FSR

Peterson P100 -- quite a rare oldie but goldie UK hand-built SS amp, small but insanely loud.

    Yamaha THR10

Rat Amp modded Blackstar BH18 head + 2 off 1x12 Blackstar cabs
(Andy does great mods.. power-scaling, serial/parallel fx loop, tone-stack bypass etc)

My home built tweed 57' Bandmaster 5E7 (which is just glorious)

Seven, if you count the Hotone as a "proper" amp...

'71 Fender Dual Showman, in a Twin Combo (1x15)
'72 Traynor YSR-1 Custom Reverb Head
    Ampeg Jet J-20 1x12
    Trace Eliot Velocette 1x10
    Vox Night Train NT15H
    Fender 15 (my first amp)
    Hotone Nano Legacy Mojo Diamond

    Also, a bunch of homemade cabs...a 1210 (1x12 and 1x10 in one cab), a 1x12 detuned/convertible, and two open back 1x12s.

    In short, too many.

New fangled trading feedback link right here!
