I have 3 and they are a good mix -

Bogner Shiva 20th + Zilla 2x12 - the big rig. Every sound I'd ever need.

Friedman Pink Taco + Friedman 1x12 - the small rock rig.

Victoria 20112 (Tweed Deluxe) 1x12 combo - the 'grab and go' Fender style rig

My v40 was going to be here on monday but I caught them before it left for shipping. Half gutted but at least it's a standard model so could check it out in future if I felt the need.

    Down to just 2 now.

MJW L6-40 for just about every occasion.

Egnater Tweaker 15 for space limited gigs and rehearsals.

Am I a bad person for only having two?

I think less is best TBH, I'm genuinely surprised how many amps some folk have, regardless of cost.

Just personally, I'd rather have one or two good amps I know else I feel I'd forever be buying and spending less and less time actually playing.

    We should have an ampfest @thomasross20 ;

with th kids in the house there's not really much opportunity to crank them in the house.

Yeah and unfortunately I live in a flat! Maybe rent a rehearsal room one day or have our own Scottish meet-up.

I'm going to the Radical Road tonight to see @Vaiai play his v30 again.

I've got a Yamaha THR 10 and a Blackstar ID TVP 30 (the Blackstar is far superior IMO). I've just bagged an early 80's Peavey Backstage off eBay yesterday and can't wait to see if I can rustle up some Jam/Weller Setting Sons era tones.

@Deadman how do you feel the Blackstar stacks up to valve amps that you've tried?
I love those ID series amps! Just wish they did them smaller (the head version, anyway)

It doesn't do a bad job, Thomas. It's ideal for the house which is why I use solid states. Had lots of valve amps over the years and while it's no Fender Twin for the cleans it's a brilliant all rounder for not much money.

@Deadman, I agree. Still considering an ID60 as backup , just a shame it's not smaller

Have it re-housed. It shouldn't be hard to make up a four-sided box to hold the chassis.
