    And is this the place where you were looking to get a mobile signal booster too?
    @BigMonka ;
    Yes.  I think I have it sussed now.  Even though I've got zero bars mobile signal on my phone, I can pick up a decent 3G signal - good enough for ~30mbps, using a specialist (and all legal) antenna, and EE have a 64Gb/mth contract for £30.50.
    What antenna is that then? That sounds like a good plan for us. Is 3g a normal internet connection?

    Got the new system setup yesterday, and it's now giving me a stable 30mbps.

    It's one of those ^^^ which I've got plugged into a small indoor router to deliver PPoE to the antenna and wifi around the house.

    Currently, the antenna is sat inside my study window, pointed in the rough direction of the nearest EE broadcast mast.  In the same place, my phone (Galaxy S6, also on EE) barely receives a signal at all - most of the time it doesn't - whereas the antenna has got 3 bars out of 5 of signal.  So it's a bit more effective.

    When I get it properly installed, probably on a pole on the chimney, and pointed accurately in the correct direction, the signal reception and mpbs should increase.

    Ahhhh - but you're now saying that I'm stuck with expensive mobile network data contracts.  Which is half true.  I am stuck with mobile data contracts.  But EE are currently doing a 24mth deal with 64GB/mth of data for £30.50/mth.
    :D

    I have internet!!!
