I know which I'd rather live in the shadow of.
I have no idea why people complain so much when the alternative is a fossil fuel or nuclear power station.

Coloured paints are going to fade after a few years in the sun, so I guess white doesn't decay noticeably and doesn't need cosmetic repainting so often.
(Years ago I read a recommendation that light aircraft should be painted white, if made of fibreglass/carbon - to reduce heating on structural parts. But I assume these big turbines are aluminium or something, not plastic?)

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
I'd happily live near one, be it grey, blue, white etc
Lovely looking things.
Nil Satis Nisi Optimum
Would you fancy living in amongst 1440 wind turbines?
For me it's a simple choice between horrendous pollution, with huge unpredictable consequences for our climate, or something that some people think looks ugly.
Or the nuclear option with its enviable safety record and touching optimism that we'll get the waste problem sorted soon, even though we've made no progress on it in fifty years.
The waste product of fossil fuel power floats out into the world, as we all know, as Co2, etc. At least nuclear waste stays where you put it if you do the job properly
And as you allude to, infinitely fewer have died in the cause of supplying nuclear power. That's usually overlooked
My next door neighbour has a vast array of solar panels on the roof of his Edwardian semi. They look bloody awful but no doubt marginally reduce his energy costs and establish his green credentials among his insufferable friends....
