How It's Made on Quest was one of my guilty pleasures, real mind numbing stuff but used to watch loads of them and were usually on in a 3 episode marathon too which allowed me to veg out...

I'm a sucker for Sunday night type TV. Midsomer Murders, Doc Martin, Death in Paradise. It's like getting into a nice relaxing bath.

I like those early morning crime documentary's about mass murderers and serial killers and how they got away with it. Also quite like watching Nazi's on the History channel sometimes, this is when I have phases of watching TV.  If I'm gonna watch it at least I want to feel like I've learnt something.

Only Wheeler Dealers (and then only for the Edd China mending-porn, can't stand Mike yes!-put-it-there-geeza-

    YES!

My dad is a sucker for some shit TV and regularly watches Wheeler Dealers. Both of us share a laugh over Mike Brewer's comically hateful screen presence but are also transfixed by Edd China, he's the real reason it's worth a watch. He almost elevates it above shit-TV status.

I watch a lot of documentaries. Crime or car based usually. Just finished watching "The Vanishing Women" where 6 women disappeared (4 turned up dead) in a small American town. Turns out they were all prostitutes and drug addicts, and their dealer and another of his associates did it.
That and Street Outlaws at the moment.
    That and sport.

Come Dine With Me is a semi regular one for me.

If I have to work on Sunday afternoons I leave it on in the background, the omnibus ones on More4.  Sometimes Four in a Bed too, if I start a bit earlier.

I don't really watch the "reality" shows, apart from The Apprentice (which seems more routine every year, but at least they have to do something rather than just sitting around jawing) and I'm a Celebrity, which is, of course, rubbish but still seems a cut above Big Brother (celeb or otherwise) which is just an exercise in watching a load of arseholes in the hope they'll have a row or fuck each other.

Oh, and then there are the Channel 4 shows which I occasionally watch, like First Dates, The Undateables, Embarrassing Bodies and Tattoo Fixers.  I can't really justify it, except they're the kind of things you can just leave on while you're going in and out of the kitchen and it doesn't matter at all if you miss them.

I don't think there were too many episodes but I just happened to catch 'The Almost Impossible Game Show' on one of the satellite channels. It's sort of like a low rent version of It's a Knockout / Ninja Warrior / Wipeout. Half it's charm is that it is so low rent, the other half the two Irish commentators. Very entertaining if you're in the right mood.

When I was a teenager I used to quite like Neighbours and Home And Away… I wonder why ;).

I watch Antiques Road Trip quite a bit now - I actually catch up with it on iPlayer, which is a sure sign of impending old age :) - but that's mainly because a chap went to university with is often in it.

Good call on Gogglebox. They have a good selection of 'characters' and it is actually quite charming. They all get really choked up with the sad stuff. I saw one where a vet was trying to save a dog and it died. So sad, they were all wiping a tear from their eye.

I'd forgotten that - good call. Very entertaining.

Also I really like Release The Hounds.

Oh that is truly terrible TV , I've only watched it once and never again. My wife had it on when they had the only way is Essex cast on, the show was made completely unwatchable by regularly cutting to Reggie Yates in some random room so that he could make some pun or joke to the camera!.

Takeshi's castle was awesome. Which reminds me of Total Wipeout .. Yea, I loved it, laughed my ass off.

I am consistently amazed at how nasty they make the challenges, and how well they unsettle the contestants. Even if they do rely a bit too much on clowns with chainsaws.

Yea, I don't know if its the same every episode but the stagnant pool of water with rotting fish in they had to wade through looked pretty grim. Not a game show I'd want to appear on ;)

It does vary a fair bit, but there are standards - meat, blood, psycho clowns/doctors, general gore and oomska. They seem to do some research on the contestants too so they normally manage to include their worst fear somehow.
