On the weekend I caught a cab from Rome airport- a massive Mercedes van thing.
I had it all to myself on the trip into central Rome.
Going around a corner the cabbie hit a Smart car- that was parked on the corner of the street I was staying in.
There was a bit of damage to the smart car- mostly just one panel was scraped.
When I got out of the cab the cabbie was checking his own car- which was dented but otherwise fine.
He drove off.
So... what would you have done in this situation?
Would it have changed depending upon which country you were in?
Comments
Not that he just drove off - that he stopped to check for damage.
Rome ...

Would you have left a note on the car telling them who hit your car?
I was using Uber Black, so I have the license plate etc.
Would you have left it?
Would you have reported it to the cab company (in this case Uber)?

He checked his own car- not the one he hit.

I assumed the Smartcar was being driven.
Report him to Uber (after you've left Rome) .. :-)
I've stayed in Rome - the standard of driving is really poor so maybe that's what people expect.

I will edit.

I'm a believer in karma so I think I would say something.
I thought New York was bad until I went to Rome. Driving over there is one big clusterfuck. I saw a Lambo parked up when I went there, but it was parked fully on the pavement (he'd driven up the dropped kerb). You can kind of understand why.
I also saw a car parked sideways on the apex of a corner at a crossroads
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
I wouldn't give it a second thought. They don't care, you shouldn't. Really.
