it was previously around 13 hours each way from home to Boston Massachusetts on a Monday and Friday 1 week a month!
i wish I could cycle. I used to, but it's not really a relaxing time, more of a slog. I long for a 10-15 mile commute, cycling would be almost fun.

Now I do a shift that starts at 7:00 and finishes at 15:30. It takes me about 10 minutes in the morning, and about 20 minutes on the way home.
One the rare occasion I do a 9:00 start the traffic really winds me up. I guess it's just whatever you're used to.

I don't mind it. It gives me a chance to get some reading time in though without distractions, and some brisk walking. Only drawback is the trains are absolutely fucking useless sometimes. More so on the way home.
Now I have a two hour commute by train and tube or a 1hr 45min 165 mile round trip on a motorbike so it’s safe to say, yes. I fucking hate commuting.
I don't know Stoke-on-Trent but if it's hilly an electric bike would still be a better option than a car.
You would save a fortune as well. Think of all the GAS you could indulge in.
