I don't know how I feel a bit fearful about the 5 K at the end, which is probably laughable to the pro's on here. All I am trying to focus on is completing the next session.
I have not jacked on a run. I shall not quit.
Not laughable at all.
C25K shared the shit out of me and I had times on getting to the first 1-2k without stopping which were far harder than I've found going from 5-10k
I would say that C25K has some flaws in that some weeks jump massively in difficulty or go backwards so don't be afraid to repeat a week (I did). The other thing I'd consider is doing the distance C25K rather than the time based one for 2 reasons.
Firstly most people run at a pace slower than 6 m/km the first time they run solidly for 30 minutes meaning the C25K ends and you haven't actually run 5k. If you do a distance based program it ends when you actually complete the stated aim.
When you are doing timed sessions with an app and you are getting to the end and are feeling really tired your temptation is to slow right down to run the clock out whereas with a distance based programme I found that I'd speed up so it was over quicker.
Also because I was a big fat bastard at the time I found running 3 times a week gave me fasciitis so I ended up doing 2 runs and a swim. That meant the program took more than 9 weeks, but who cares as long as you get there.

Biggest month in terms of distance for me yet. Took in my first 5k Parkrun too and that went ok if a bit on the slow side. Did the BHF 'MyMarathon' charity event for May which raised some coins too.
Probably due to a change in job soon I might not get as much time to run so will have to prioritise a bit the type of running I'm doing. At the moment I just run how I feel without too many goals. Id like to do more longer distance stuff (15k upwards) time permitting but that's going to need a bit of working out. Hopefully I'll sort something.
Got a 10k event in later June so I'm looking forward to that as well. Best of luck to anyone giving this lark a go whether beginner or expert. I'm really enjoying it.
Cheers
Hugh
