This one came from another very close friend who thought it suited me more than it did him.
This is one of my dream guitars.
Gibson Firebird Studio 2005, identical to the guitar that Dave Grohl played on 'The Pretender'.

Loving that Firebird with the humbuckers , never liked the pickups on those....
.... Lets face it this was always going to end up here...

A Patrick Eggle Stratford my mother bought new in the early 90s and gave to me this year for my 40th and a Spanish guitar that belonged to my great great grandfather.
Won't sell this SG faded because a/ it sounds and plays brilliantly and b/ the mods make it uneconomical to do so
Can't see my R8 going anywhere in a hurry, this is my #1 now
And I don't think I'll be selling the V100 I glued back together because it's worth less than its pickups, and it's an ideal backup guitar as it plays and sounds okay
It sounds like an SG with more thump behind it and it feels like manchester with strings on it.

Its my first vintage guitar that I bought for £850 a couple of years ago....I went to actually buy a 1971 Gibson Deluxe Les Paul Goldtop which didn’t float my boat or sound that good, he had it hidden away in another room because it was a bit of a basket case.
Suffered a headstock break, neck reset, 4th set of frets and a refinish.
As it had suffered a headstock break in the 90s the owner had it converted to SG Special spec.
To me this guitar has the perfect neck and sounds amazing but for some reason in the middle toggle setting the sound it almost out of phase sounding which I love on a clean fender amp.
I’ve came close to selling it once and soon realised my error.
I love this guitar including all its faults.
Mine looks very different, but I still have it.

After my last grandparent passed, it was just one of those thoughts that it meant I was in a really lucky position to afford/justify and there you go. She’s named after my grandparents.
She’s also cost me a decent chunk of change too in opening floodgates to me trying more vintage guitars and other custom shop models, which is why I’m keeping a really small herd. Right now is her, an AV54 strat and my 64RI SG. If/when gigging is a thing again I’m not against adding a budget guitar that doesn’t mind roughing it.
That is one gorgeous LP I must say.
The pickups were chosen to be the closest mini-humbuckers to the sound of a PAF Pro neck and an Evo bridge. (Fast Track 1 and Chopper - the middle is an Area 61.) They're not exact by any means, but they'll do given the likelihood of me ever being able to play like Vai .
