No Time To Die - WITH SPOILERS!!

What's Hot
Seems like a spoiler thread is good idea, to keep the other one 'clean"

I really enjoyed it and have many questions from the standard final frame, "James Bond will return"

So, come on then folks. Where does the next film go? Does Bond somehow escape being turned into a stain on the burnt rock? Do we go back to seeing him recruited to MI6 from the Navy? Or maybe ignore it all and just make more stories about a mostly drunk, shagging dooood with gadgets who’s job is saving the world from swivel eyed lunatics with private armies??

Is he really meant to be one guy? I always figured it was a placeholder title like Air Force One, its a designation of office, maybe 007 is always James Bond and there's no significance to the number, its just his employee number and everyone knows it after HR sent out a warning about him.

Well, the film is about James Bond, not 007. A prequel about his Navy days seems likely to try and tell a different story.

I enjoyed "the come with hair now" line as a contrast to the more obvious Connery/Moore line that would have usually happened

  • Every new Bond is a reboot not a continuation. So does it really matter? The question is will it still be called James Bond or just 007.
After all 007 was not James Bond in this film.

The last frame at the end said ‘James Bond will return’ not ‘007 will return’ which is what I was expecting. So?????

Well... he wasn't... and then he was. And then wasn't again ;-)

    Good film, we enjoyed it.

I thought he was, then he wasn’t, then he was and then he wasn’t again.  May have missed a change or two though

    "Bond - James Bond" sounds better than "07 - 0 07"

Saw it last night. Pretty disappointed!

It was too long - far too many long dialogue scenes which drew it all out for no reason.

The villain had no real backstory and was very uninteresting.

The ending sucked and ruined what little chance of redemption the film had. (Instead they just made a mediocre film and then made the ending incredibly sad for no reason)

It had some good bits but overall it felt more like a tacky mission impossible movie than a bond film, and absolutely not on the level of Casino Royal or Skyfall.

I thought it was an anti-climatic end Daniel Craig's time as Bond.

    Rant over   =)

    What @hassleham said!
Ending was a joke. The whole point of Bond is he’s not human. The Bond myth has been destroyed and for no great reason.

  • Just back from it.  I did enjoy it, though far too little of Ana de Armas.   Lots of references to 007 being just a number so I can see it being rebooted with a different character playing the 007 role.   I agree though the next one will be a prequel of sorts to ensure they can use the James Bond name.

I could imagine that an organisation with numbers like that would re-use them.

Was Bond even the first 007?

I enjoyed it, it was a good film.

I’ve said it before though, Bond needed to die and should stay dead.

As a character and a franchise, everything that can be done has been done. This film was a good ending to Bond and maybe he should just remain a dead hero.

There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

Turns out there is an H in Haych! ~ Sporky

    Bit of trading feedback here.

All true, but there's simply far too much money to be made from continuing the franchise.

It'll keep coming out after I'm long dead I'm sure...

Just back from seeing it. I enjoyed it, but Remi Malik was a rubbish villain. They might as well have used a shop dummy for all the emotion and acting skill he put into it.

    Oh and Paloma. Hubba hubba.

Saw this last night, and actually really enjoyed it - more so than the previous Danny Craig outings. I think it was because he had to up his game and show some emotion, instead of the typical hard-arsed no-nonsense version that doesn't form attachments.

However, the parts that had me frustrated were the whole of Spectre and Blofeld being built up over several films to be this big bad, only to have be killed off by Freddie Mercury - who only made an appearance for what felt like 10 mins. Terrible way to develop the main bad guy; just because he killed the other bad guys doesn't automatically make me think he's more dangerous etc.

Loved the "James Bond will return..." part though. Was expecting his hand to suddenly be thrust through a load of wreckage with dramatic music - glad they didn't dare go down that path though.

I'm betting his daughter will identify as male and takes up the name James.

Also - PLEASE let Matt Berry be the next Bond!
