The sound on Icon 30 is great.
A few weeks back we spent an evening A/Bing the original vs the new version.
Both sound great. I like the fact the instruments are clearer on the new version. But the original sounds more connected. If that makes sense.
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

Closer to the Op’s preference, is the album by Scottish band Sgaile called Traverse the Bealach, progressive post metal with excellent atmospheric parts. Try it @Hootsmon
Fall of Efrafa - group of guys local to Brighton I think came together to create 3 albums known as the Warren of Snares, all based on Watership Down. They then disbanded once the job was done.
Pelican
ISIS - the band lol.
The Ocean
Neurosis
Similar kind but a lot less heavy instrumental band called Explosions in the sky are also great.
If you like heavy.. check this out..
Though the one they fix with Julie Christmas was absolutely awesome. Mariner, I think. Like a sci-fi-horror film in music form.
