It's really hard to take TPS seriously when they now have a ton of pricey vintage gear through Two-Rocks, a wet-dry-wet rig and a pedalboard costing more than a decent used car.
It's not about music, it's about gear acquisition.
And they don't sound any better than when they had the basics and a Mooer Trelicopter.
Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.
Amazing that in their whole 'tone journey' It's almost as if it is a complete coincidence that the only tones they gravitate towards now they are making bank are really expensively purchased ones.
I guess it's the opposite of my own journey through all this stuff where I realised just how brilliant a cheap Boss SD-1 can be and that most 'improvements' to a classic circuit that the baristas who, fed up with ruining coffee now intend to ruin boutique pedals, have come up with, are not objectively improvements.
PS - I doubt they spend a penny on gear and anything they do purchase is a work expense.

All that surprises me is the regular validating references from people like McErlain and Beato etc. Doesn’t bother me to assume it’s me that’s missing something. Wouldn’t be the first time.
I've played his vintage Strat and really liked it. If I had the disposable funds I would buy something else though.
As for the rest with amps/pedals I have done the merry go round enough and after wasting a shit ton of money I kind of settled on the things I like, none of which are particularly cheap but not unobtanium either. Each to their own but it was just an observation about where their tastes have led them.
You say Mick's happy with a Deluxe Reverb and a TS Mini, but pretty sure he said he takes a wet/dry rig to a pub gig. I like him by the way but increasingly over the years he has moved further and further away from the sort of sounds I want to cop.

I prefer Baxter and Jonathan at Casino Guitars, because they do not play and they know stuff.
I've enjoyed TPS a lot in the past, I enoy their live streams while I'm making dinner on a Monday, got two T hirts and the D and M drive which I think is wonderful. Over the last couple of years I've found their regular friday afternoon output to be of no use to me. I see this more with the motorcycle channels I watch, as I don't watch much in the way of music GAS content anymore, but the trrend seems to have gone towards longer videos that don't really say very much, and with little thought to production or presentation.
I know most of them are one-person bands, amateurs with no real aptitude for production, but I think when they get to a certain size they really need some outside help in making a show that's actually decent to watch instead of some algorithm feeding snoozefest that prioritises lenght (to maximise 'engagement' and therefore more ads) ahead of actually saying something useful in a shorter space of time. I've got shit to do, don't waste my time!

Maybe he can explain this.
Damn fine playing on his clips by the way.
