I used to play with him a lot when I went to United World College, and numerious of other schools while I was studying in Singapore. He was the first person to pay me to play guitar, well the pub he owned in Tanglin Shopping Centre in Singapore was the first place to employ me to play the guitar in a band. Because of him I got into music professionally, and haven't looked back since, he gave me my first break in what has turned out to be my career.

Get beyond the dodgy vocal on this and his solo at the end is just astonishing.

The first time I ever saw him was on TOGWT where he played 'Makin Magic' and was completely floored by his performance.
My favourite though is probably You've Got it Bad.
I'll throw Richard Hawley in - is known for his voice but years playing clubs and session work means he could probably shit all over most.

The epitome of subtle expressive playing. Could say more with one note that most can with 50. Writer of some great and unusual licks
