Would anyone notice if I just played random crap for basslines?
Would everyone be OK if I play some lead on Champagne Supernova that is just random Am pentatonic noodling?

Because if not I'm just standing at the back playing chords :)

    I would. :-)
And me, I’m hoping @Bridgehouse keeps the groove going when I drop my sticks, so I know when to come back in!

It might sound better in A maj, as the song is based around an A major chord with a decending bass note. ;-)

But tbh, I don't think the solos were exactly 'scripted'. The only thing that has to be right is the riff - one guitar high, one low.

Proposed running order - mixes up singers and song pace so should be do-able. If you want to change any let me know why and where you'd want to move the song to.

Theres four people down for guitar on CCR - Fortunate Son, Fallen In Love and Champaign Supernova - Do you want to do it twice with two different line ups (or different people playing the lead solo) - we can add that in on the day if people want it (provided the nominated singer can cope)!

    Karma......

For Live Forever I was planning on strumming chords during the verse/chorus, I've not had time to figure out the twiddly bits during the verses although I am OK with the arpeggio bit at the end of each chorus, and then have a good go at the solo, pretty much what they play.  Then strum for the last verse+chorus and do some not-quite-what-they-did-but-pretty-much-along-the-same-lines stuff for the outro solo...if you can call it a solo.
Bassline can be whatever you want from my point of view :)

    Ed.....

    Relative Major and Minors.

You're playing in the Key of A Major but you want to use a minor pentatonic shape you're used to.....

Use that shape starting at the second fret as if you're playing a minor solo in F#.
Everything you play will fit A Major as long as you remember that the ROOT notes don't change position so your A Roots will still be your Root notes but you'll go up and down in the Minor Pent shape you know.

Playing in a Majpr key but want to use a minor scale shape,.....go 3 frets down and play it just remember your root notes.
Playing in a minor key and want to use a major scale shape.......go 3 frets up and play it,.....ALWAYS remembering your roots..

    Does that make sense?

If not, learn the major scale.
Open A string (Works on every string).........0,2,4,5,7,9,11,12

Then *find* those notes starting with the 6th string, 5th fret. (That's 'A').

Once you find the scale box, learn it.
    :)

@mrkb - Hi Mark. Think we agreed some time for a little instruction at the start for those of us who would like some guidance?
