haha, know the feeling. I got busted 1W December, she never goes in my music room but wouldn't wait for me to get the Xmas decs down and they are in storage rooms off my music room. So she took it on herself to sort it. What's worse is that she had to move 26 guitar cases (only two of which were empty) so she knows they were nearly all full ! She understood I had only 6 !! So been in the doghouse for couple of weeks now. Still, I'm working on the solution....started digging a patio footing outside the kitchen door & have just left it. She been quiet as a mouse on the subject this week

I'd been so proud of myself successfully smuggling gear in over the last couple of years too, it's taken all the fun out of GAS for  now

I actually have at least 65% of my machines in sunburst.

It lessens the chance of Alistair spotting new editions, and as they tend all to be Fender or Gibson, and the chances are quite slim as the colour offers a masking agent of IOC substance list proportions.

Worryingly though, he's started to distinguish between maple and rosewood boards. That's a serious concern.

On a serious note, if your other half is going around the house counting guitars then you already have bigger problems than the quantity of guitars in the house.

You aren't clever enough. I have guitars in 5 locations at home, I also have some at work and I've lent some out. Further to that is the red herring of my son's 4. Add to that the fact that I don't actually know how many I have, so she can't even torture it out of me (however, I have hidden Westlife's greatest hits just in case)

If Mrs A can work out how many I have I'll give her a prize and a certificate!

It'd have to be a new one of course.
You'd have to play it to bed it in for her too.

Live in London, small house, and I'm really a drummer, very few places to hide, she counted the ones in the "dining" room , and then asked me how many upstairs.  You don't lie to her.  But first time she's ever shown interest in 
"how many"

I tried something similar with my daughter's stash...  But she's a southpaw.  And the fair Mrs Moans can tell an upside down headstock when she sees one.

Lightbulb moment: reverse headstocks!  That's why it's all about Firebirds and Hendrix strats from here on in.
