I tried a Chapman last week in Andertons.

It was very good - there I said it.  Great low action, nice sounding pickups.  Good basic guitar (was one of the £429 jobbies).

There was a previous generation second hand "Norseman" there which was stupidly heavy, so I'd avoid older ones unless you like that, but the new models seem to have fixed that problem.

The slightly higher end ones made at WMI are comparable in quality to the WMI PRS' (of which I have one and it is great).

    A mere £3.6k

They must have the customers for these otherwise they wouldn't bother....

That's an expensive jobbie. Mine come out of me for free.

Also, a £3.6k guitar where the colour is named after the company's founder's son? Bit overly personal for such a high ticket item...

Never realised that. Also, I'm not keen on the names for the pickups etc.....just sound like something from a game of Dungeons and Dragons (as cool as that may have been in my youth, it's way past those days).

    That’s not a model - it’s Rob Chapman.

    His son is called Theorium?

Which apparently means "grey".  Although it's hard to tell since the picture appears to be a smudgy black and white scan of a poor Photoshop mock-up.  I doubt they're getting many preorders based on that.

    Oh, touché :)

But lets face it... there will always be someone to take aim and fire at. And that does need to change.

I'll be honest, I'm fond of the youtubers (not just her) and I will end up owning a Chapman soon.  As guitars they are both different and good.

My pre-woking trip next year might be accompanied by a youtube video "Darth Ed buys a Chapman..."!

It’s easy - that’s why. Easy to poke and prod but hard to complement when someone has a bit of success and does their own thing.

I’d happily have chappers out for a pint and a chat, or have him at a Jam session - he’d have to up his licks tho ;)

@Bridgehouse I do recall an undertaking in another thread to have another youtuber attend first though... ;)
