Which famous guitar would you most like to own?

Just for fun, as the title really - if you could own any one guitar that is in some way famous, either because of its player or for some other reason (not including value), which would it be.

For me I think it would be this, Knopfler's Schecter dream machine, just because it's an awesome guitar to look at and I always thought this sounded better than all his others.  I grew up watching and listening to Alchemy on a continuous loop and this was always my favourite guitar.

I wonder how much it would cost me to have Tom Anderson build me a replica....... hmmmmmmm.

There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

Turns out there is an H in Haych! ~ Sporky

Jeff Buckley’s telecaster.  Internet wisdom tells me I wouldn’t like it with a top loader bridge and blade pickups but it sounded awesome in his hands.  His album was very influential on a 16 year old me learning to play the guitar.

    I think it's Pat Metheny's -  the Manzer Pikasso.

    No, really.

Or if we can extend it beyond guitars, any of the Strad cellos that are in museums or private collections not being played. That'd show up those smug gits at Cello Club.

Jack White's famous red Airline guitar. Then I'd smash the thing because Seven Nation Army can f*ck off..

Once upon a time, on a visit to the old Chandler Guitars premises on Sandycombe Road, the window display included one of Townshend's Giffin Telecasters and Steve Hillage's Stratocaster (as seen on the cover of the album, "L"). Too bad that I was skint. Either of those would have done.

I'd go with this too, I believe it was set up beautifully and sounded immense of course.

I may be wrong but although the Airline is in the video, it would have most likely been recorded on his hollow body Kay guitar as it's in Open A tuning.

My answer is always Weller's "Wham" Ric 330 - I tried to think of something different but it's still my favourite.

That must have been when Diedre Cartwright bought it... I always fancied that guitar, but I believe its since been refinished.

Disregarding value & going purely for what I'd want to play the most, the answer is simple: Roy Buchanan's Telecaster.

I'm either going for Snowy White's Gold top or SRV's no 1

@Haych that Knopfler guitar is a peach
