  • Right. After the conversation at the end of Sunday at Huddersfield.. I dug these out:

So next jam = harmonica in the Chicago style.

I have a harp mic and I'll get hold of a cheapo Epiphone Blues Junior and we shall have the blues.. anyone up for it?
yes. Proper blues, none of this squealy superfast whiteboy "blues"
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

If we want to do proper blues can we do "Boom Boom" by John Lee Hooker?

Why not? IIRC JLH didn't exactly stick to the same 12-bar format all the time sometimes it was 13 sometimes it was 11 1/2 you just had to follow him but if we choose a particular recording and count it out we'll get there :)

I'll be honest the imprecision (is that a word?  must be...) of the blues is part of it's appeal for me ;)

  • What's a quad session?
How did the acoustic part go? Man, I really need to catch up. I've not played live for so long now either (I know, supportive environment etc)

  • How did the acoustic part go?
Strummy stuff, fingerpickin' stuff, most of it was one person playing & singing. James did one song while I backed him on guitar, it was something we cobbled together during the afternoon. Most of it was OK to listen to but I did a song on my own in totally the wrong key ...

I broke my open mic duck so I call it an unequivocal success!

Bit of everything. I played a Del Amitri on acoustic and forgot the chords and then a slide piece on my resonator which kept slipping off my lap. I had a laugh and no-one else really cared that is messed it up.

I was going to do "Never Going Back Again" but I can't sing it and play it at the same time. Maybe next year.

Sorry @mrkb, I keep writing you out of drumming history!

Here we go with Champagne Supernova with @mrkb @darthed1981 @bridgehouse and me.

That is the most serious I've ever looked!

I was actually really enjoying myself! :)

Mr @darthed1981 - that song, at that gig was the best I’ve heard you play. You nailed it and you made me very happy - that performance alone made all the Jam organising worth it for me - watching you go from beginner to proper gig player has been a pleasure.
