Im actually quite interested in the LP Classic Worn Ebony - would definitely solve one of the big issues I have with Epiphone which is the plasticky finish. Also keen to try out the 50s standard as I’ve realised it has the 59 rounded neck profile which is one of my favourites.

  • If you were guessing which would you say will be Epiphone's best seller?

I reckon the LP Junior or the Special, I think they’ll sway a lot of people from the Gibson versions, for those who want a no frills stripped back guitar it probably makes more sense.

The LP special looks a treat and a better bargain than its Gibson master copy .

I have a 2015 Sheraton, should I have been upset with the headstock???
I don't think anyone has ever had an issue with original Epiphone models having Epiphone headstocks, but they do jar a bit on Les Pauls and SGs.
I own a few older, mostly Korean built,  Epiphone guitars and have never really looked at the headstocks. The recently issued new models with new headstock designs got me looking at my guitars and I noticed that the Dot and Casino instruments have a different more conventional headstock design to the solid models which have that strange design with the chopped off corners. Although I’m not a great fan of the chopped off corner design it wouldn’t stop me buying a nice playing Epiphone. In the past I’ve found that the biggest shortcoming with Epiphone electric guitars has been the pickups.
