Finally got around to installing my "Brassknuckle" from Oil City Pickups last night.

I've dropped this in the neck position on my Jaden Rose original series as I wanted something with a little more bite and clarity skin to a single coil.

Initial impressions are this is a cracking pickup that dies exactly what it says on the tin. Through a clean amp it's got real character and with a little grit from my bb preamp it really sings! Thanks Ash. I'll no doubt be back for more!!

Surely not dies? (that would be unfortunate)
    does?   ;)

Had the pleasure of visiting Oily Towers during my recent visit back to the UK. Collected a couple of Tele pickups I had ordered, a Californian neck and Forty Niner bridge, as well as a couple of unplanned others. I hope you don't mind but Ash, but you are the man! So accomodating to my daft questions and full of great info and advice. As for the pickups..... You really have to try the new ones. I have the Cali and Forty Niner fitted with a four way switch and they genuinely sound sublime, exceeded my expectations, that good. I also somehow managed to blag the prototype Brass Knuckles, to be fitted into my Ibby SA. I suspect that will seriously rock too. To Ash (and Fi and the cats) a huge thanks is in order.

Just fitted the prototype/original Brass Knuckles into my Ibanez SA. A bit tricky with the odd Ibanez five way switch but Ash has the patience of a saint talking idiot me through it. WOW! So much more dynamic than conventional 'buckers and the split tones are near perfect. Very pokey, straight away pushing my '68 Custom Twin into a beautiful break up without being life threatening. Did I mention the dynamics? A new meaning to clear and articulate however hard you play them. Once again Ash, you are the man!

Glad you like em ... the combination is now in my own gigging Tele ... it's terribly immodest to say ... but I think this is the best Tele combo I've made!

  • Rewiring my jazzmaster plate so on a few weeks when it's refinished, it'll have a pair of strat pickups and cow t ron, all courtesy of you, rocking again.

They are all fabulous sounding, and I am hopefully good enough at this partscastering to do them justice now :) very very excited. Sticking with the gold cover on the tron.
