  • Learned of these guys on Whispering Bob's Country Hour a couple of weeks ago and they sounded interesting.

For the last couple days I've been immersed in such whilst walking the dog. I'm hooked!  =)

35 years to the day since this unassuming little tune came out.
Tricky to cover down the Dog & Duck without the 40 piece choir...
The Sisters of Mercy, This Corrosion

Found out recently that Jim “Bat Out of Hell” Steinman produced this. Bizarre, but kinda makes sense.

Sundrowned - like a slightly mellower Rosetta. Good stuff.

  • A playlist I made of favourite tracks off new releases so far in 2022, so, right this second “Kick” by Def Leppard from Diamond Star Halos. So cheesy pop rock. Before Def Lep was “Come Away With Me” from Journey’s FREEDOM album. Up next… “Back From The Dead” by Halestorm. :)

    Sco-Mule.
John Scofield and Govt Mule 2CD live.
Glorious; Sco in full fusion god mode, guitar screaming with the Mule pounding along beneath.
There are some bloody fantastic exchanges with Haynes.

    And...Miles Davis bootleg series vol 7, 3CD.
3rd CD is Montreal concert 1983 (Scofield again) - excellent, far better than London that year and Davis was playing well.
The other 2 CDs are a much better listen than I thought they would be though heavily blues-rock on CD1 (no bad thing when it's Mike Stern), and mostly guide tracks on CD2 although you get the whole of 'Katia' with JohnM.  Covers the '83-'85 period - last 3 CBS LPs.

Jarvis Cocker - Good Pop, Bad Pop audiobook.

Some things really need to be read by the author to convey the subtler nuances. This is one.

Heard this on the radio just over a month ago and almost every day since ... I just watched the original on YT, then the busking version on YT and then this version.

What a song and what a combo ... fantastic IMHO. Equally good posting for the thread about "what brings a year to your eye?"

I've had a weekend now to get over it. :)  I'm off this week, just hoping when I go back they haven't rebranded and I won't recognise the place.
