It's not just them a few banks are having problems at the moment as well

It's locked them out so it requires a local engineer visit.

That's going to be a tricky conversation when they do the post mortem.

When my router plays up I just take the wire out, unplug it and plug it all back in and then it's normally fine. Sometimes I have to call my ISP up. Do you think they're stuck in a queue to speak to their ISP?

By the sounds of things the "turn it off and on again" is exactly what they have to do, but I don't think most modern cloud companies are used to having to do that!

If Facebook shutdown there would be an alternative up and running within a month. It, or something very like it are here to stay.

I used to work with someone who was very vocal in his disdain for social media. Had plenty of eloquent reasons for not using it. After he disappeared from work and no one could reach him,  i Googled his name. 

Oh boy.

Just for some serious context here - to all the “Facebook and Instagram are for the degenerate low life’s in society” naysayers that populate the fretboard… I, as well as many other guitar businesses rely heavily on social media to reach my customers and fan base. Most of the outages are minor and last for an hour or two at most. But I haven’t seen one that takes out both simultaneously for this long. I only found out about it when I went to post on Instagram. 

Without this (free) method of getting info out to my followers I can’t continue effectively as a business. A website will only get you so far, we live in the day and age of social media (with or without the haters). So, hopefully it’s fixed soon. And I hope some insight from myself speaks for a few fellow businesses of similar size that provide goods and services for you guys.
