MXR Analogman 'Duke of tone'

  • Guvnor, MXR Distortion+ (Kinda obvious really), Blackstone Appliances MOSFET drive, a proper Klone (they could ask Juansolo how it’s done although I’m pretty happy with my Decibelics), Bluesbreaker (yes I know there are plenty of clones but a Marshall approved one?), and then there are Boss pedals- it’s a mystery to me that Boss doesn’t have a mini pedal line.

Don't imagine they struggling to sell full size ones.

I don't see what a collaboration with another company to downsize would achieve. They are more than capable of it with their own engineering team.

Looks good, I'll be giving one of these a go, I like the MXR custom shop mini pedals.

    It's too smol

Thats so you can combine two for the faux KOT version
Zackly or combine with an ODR mini to make a small/cheap Protein
I found the Protein BB site quite a bit different than the KOT, I had them side by side but kept the Protein.

The latter was brighter and more transparent.

You can get the BB side of the Protein now but not mini.

I just think when you're stood on a dark stage, pumped on adrenaline, covered in sweat and singing your heart out as you fully inhabit the creative world of your music, you don't have a lot of brain left to look down at a sea of half-credit-card size pedals and gingerly step on the right combination of footswitches to go from lead solo to clean in two beats.

Cool that it's available though. I wonder if this is the real reason the waiting list for the real deal has been left to approach infinity?
    Very true!

Listening on my Focals, I thought I could hear a difference in the midz during the A/B section, but both sounded great.

  • I presume these are all 'pre order'?

I just cannot be bothered to pre-order pedals now. A month is fine, but 3-4, no. I cancelled a few pre-orders earlier this year as the wait time just kept increasing.

Once things balance out I'd like to try one of these and the Timmy.

I just hope that've not used an odd sweep on the vol pot like they did on the MXR Timmy (and which doesn't seem to be mentioned in any of that pedals reviews or demos)
    Red ones are better.

Definitely interested in this, these MXR Custom Shop pedals are such a great idea – and it sounds great in the Peach video.

Preordered (because Peach only needs a small deposit, so doesn’t feel like I’m “out” in the meantime). This will be fun I think - I’m also a big fan of MXR minis.

  • Had almost forgotten I’d put myself on the KoT waiting list a while back. Looking at dates on his website I should reach the top of the list this month….think I’ll hold out for the real deal.
