Now that's a nice looking modern strat. I seem to recall that the specs on these were great too.

Yeah, the neck in particular is a beaut. Although it was a stretch at the time it was almost the perfect spec for me so had to have one.

Unlike the newer Custom Deluxes it has a nitro finish, and Desert Sand isn't as common as other Fender colours too, which I like.

The pups are '69's in neck and middle and Texas Special in bridge, though I have had a Seymour SSL-5 in the bridge for the last few years. Also changed the block saddles to vintage style Callahams.

Dug it out, that's about 15 years or more ago. Sold it to John Beer who repairs and makes Wem Dominator amps. Great guy.

Strats are a unique guitar in that they look fantastic, regardless of the colour. They look great in black, white, blue, Metallica, pastel, bursts, fancy tops, plain tops...

In other words, I want them all.
