I'd be terrified of dinging someone else's guitar, if it's a £100 squire or a £10,000 private stock.

I was like that when someone let me play a early 50's Goldtop LP (I forget the actual year) - I was quite happy until the owner casually dropped the value of the thing into conversation (about £18k was the last offer he'd received). I couldn't play a note after that and was shitting myself that the strap buttons might pull out of the wood etc...
It's amazing where your thoughts go when it's so expensive.

  • Here's my two - A now faded '09 AL-D Prism that's been my main gig guitar for years and my '09 DGT that I've just put up for sale on this forum. I've owned quite a few PRS over the years, but these two have been the best of the bunch by far, 2009 was clearly a vintage year at PRS!

Would love to see a recent picture of the Al do meola in its current faded guise! @Majorscale

    Holymoly!
Some beauts on here. Those fancy things like the sandy beach and the Prism or whatever are lovely.
    I want one now!

That photo was of it's newer faded self. Here's a before and after to give an idea of how it's "matured"!

who was it on the forum that had this guitar - but with a 3 way selector and quite a more crackled/older pain job, I think it had birds too rather than dots.

Well, I've trawled this thread and I honestly can't see one PRS that I'd consider owning. I just can't stand the look of them. :(

I wouldn't buy the bloody awful stuff you do, e.g.  http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/64616/ngd-x-2#latest

Each to their own, no need to piss on other people's chips....

    *sigh*

This has been discussed at length previously...no pissing on other people's chips or trolling...it just never ceases to surprise me how (having played numerous PRS's) that (despite not being averse to how they feel), I just can't get on with - or get over - the aesthetics. It's actually more of a reflection on my own foibles than a condemnation of PRS owners.

Enough - this is a thread to lust over pics.  Any more "not for me" comments will be deleted.

Had a feel of the Brent Mason model and that maple neck felt gorgeous like it was nicely played in.

The Brent Mason is an exceptional guitar. Fender influenced PRS guitars never seem to be big sellers but the one I tried was fantastic in every way.

Re, the Brent Mason - small thing which really isn't a big deal, but I wish PRS would quit their covered single coil pickups outside of the 305 and 513.

The Brent Mason would look much nicer with a 'pole piece' style single IMO. Not played one yet but would be interested to try.

Your both right, I fancied something to complement my DGT so a BM at a great price was a no brainer. Lovely guitar with exceptional PRS build quality, fit and finish. The neck is a very comfy V/D profile. I would say the BM 408's are both hotter than the DGT pups which the spec suggets but didnt quite realise how different they sounded until playing back to back.....

How are the 408s? Lack of volume drop when going to split coil must be amazing
