Mum's aneurysm ruptured this morning and she's just undergone two consecutive major operations.  The surgeon said the next 24-48 hours are critical.  Waiting to see her in the intensive care unit now.  Your thoughts for her would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks guys.  I've been in bits all day.  The first op took six hours and they fitted a graft to repair the aneurysm and stitched her back up, put her into intensive care and shortly after realised her legs had no pulse, so they had to take her back to theatre and open her up again, undo the bottom end of the graft to clear out blood that had clotted and also clear out clots that had appeared in her legs.  They stitched in a new 'Y' piece to the bottom of the first graft and stitched her back up again.  That took 3 to 4 hours.  So, she's been under the knife for 9-10 hours, which is heavy going for an 85 year old.

I'm dreading the sound of my mobile phone.  I'm praying she makes it through tonight.  Thanks for all your thoughts - it means a lot to me to know lots of people are rooting for her.
