I'm 45 years old, and I've always loved this song, but never dreamt I've ever be able to play it...

    'I am the resurrection'

yeah, all the way to the end, including all the widdly widdly bits!

There's a great 4 part series on YouTube by Ant's Guitar Tutorials, so I'm a very happy man :-)

With so many comparison web sites out there, how do I choose the best one?

Lot easier if you play the a9 with the root on the open a string the fingering flows a lot easier then

woah hang on, the main riff being the actual four position stretchy fingers bit right? sorry if my terminology isn't the acceptable format

Not so sure about the Mastering bit but I have been 'working' on the following songs on guitar:

'All I need is the Air that I breathe' by the Hollies

'(Simply) the best' by Tina Turner

'Tequila Sunrise',  the Alan Jackson take on this song

'Ride on',  the Christy Moore version

On keyboards I have started the Udemy Piano Course.  Making slow progress....

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. [Albert Einstein]

yeah near enough, bizarrely just seems to be going into my muscle memory so that's good

problem for me really is I don't normally play with a pick but I find that bit is spot on with a pick nice and easy, but then I struggle playing the I'll send an SOS to the one chuggy chuggy bit, because I find that easier without the pick so bit of a dilemma really
Bollocks you don't know Bono !!

Should really ought to be working on my lead phrasing though!

    Finally mastered stairway to heaven.

I look forward to noodling it when I go mic & pa shopping post lockdown.

I'm sure the stores will appreciate it.....

Sad Cafe - Every Day Hurts

Absolute masterpiece of songwriting, easy solo but remembering the Chords is no easy feat. I learned it from the Ultimate Guitar page and it was spot on. Definitely one you'd have to have your memory jogged on if you've not played it for a while.

    Best solo of all time.

Since reading this thread I've joined the group trying This Charming Man to see what the hype is about.  Frustratingly tricky to nail.

I've really been hammering the practice... Bass in particular. Joined a band on bass just before the lockdown so I've learnt all the stuff they gave me to learn:
    Let's Dance
    Sledgehammer
    Rock the Casbah
    Money for nothing
    And about 5 or 6 other's.

For my own pleasure I've learned:
    September - EW&F
    Good Times - Chic
Mr blue sky & last train to London - ELO
Various UFO and Thin Lizzy tracks
    And presently Roundabout - Yes
I've been using the drum tracks on Songster as a backing to play to.
Plus various 'talking bass' utube tutorials.
Playing the guitar is probably the only thing that has kept me sane thru this. Fortunately Mrs Balrog is very supportive so I get away with playing for 2 or 3 hours every day.
Good job cos me and my dodgy ticker have got at least another 6 weeks to go!

Another Hank fan here. Just took delivery of a Yamaha Magicstomp with EFTP patches :) . Wonderful Land, and Telstar are faves (LOVE the ending to Telstar) and about to embark on Blue Star and Find Me A Golden Street.

Can't beat a bit of Shads.
