I take your point about "brown" guitars. In my case I've developed an aversion to the ubiquitous butterscotch and blonde finishes on '50s Teles. But my rebellion's only gone as far as buying black or sunburst ones.

@crunchman These were a FSR from 2013. I had gone into chappels in London (now Yamaha music london) just to get some strings, and there on display they had one tele and one strat and weren't getting any more. It was a complete impulse purchase. Apparently there were only 20 or so made for the UK.
Sold it years ago to pay some bills but wish I hadn’t. One day I’ll own another...
