    Aw

Massive kudos to GG Edinburgh and Robert at GG Glasgow for letting me spend hours (and I mean HOURS) playing multiple very expensive guitars.. I think the Gibbo's are a great deal - they do have "that sound" and I'm very glad you all are getting something out of it I really got caught up in the frenzy there - if these were for me, I'd have been willing to drop the money on one but thankfully I don't have to. Goes to show - must PLAY first! Next on my list would be some sort of mahogany Suhr. Sorry for thread derail - continue!

Well I tried a great 8.25o R9 but.... They're not for me. They DO sound amazing but it's the ergonomics.

This was the best guitar in the shop by a country mile:

if only that once seen could be unseen. if only.

the thing is Les Pauls are fundamentally cool in their essence.

they're not everyone's thing and there are many more rational choice.

but they're still cool and that's why the sell by the container load.

  • I have noticed GG still have 57 59s to sell and they don't seem to be moving that quick - Andertons still have a dozen or so and haven't checked anywhere else
    Is £3499 the floor??

    My God that's an abomination
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

  • Does make me wonder what the designer was thinking. Also makes me wonder what the procurement guy in GG was thinking.

£1k more expensive at £3.5k significantly reduces the prospective buyer pool. Plus no 36mth finance deal as far as I can see. The nicer topped dirty lemons shifted quickly though.

Yep, loads of cherry (the least popular option) and the tops on most aren't worthy of the £1000 upcharge.

£100 a month for 3 years. I think that scares me more than the lump sum

I'm going to weigh in with a firm 'No' here, not least because I bought this VOS CR8 10 years ago, used and at a good price, before things went stupid:

OK, I can see how the colours can be a bit harsh
Calm down, chap. Is it really worth getting shirty over some playful jesty comments?

At least we can agree about the colour!

If that Suhr had been the norm 60 years ago, you'd get the same comments for posting a poo burst LP now.
It's all about the historical re-enactment.
