I'm genuinely surprised at how divisive the 'classics' are. I would have thought for sure that there would have been consensus on those. 

So far it appears that its really only old stuff or semis that are overwhelmingly liked.

Cheers! I could ask which one, but the answers are the same for both - they're Duesenberg knobs; you can get them from rockinger and elsewhere - and no, they pre-date my time here.

Sad that my poor little Aria has got so many lols and only one wow .

I expected the Rickenbackers to get much more negativity - or the Gretsch with the deliberately wrong pickups...

Id be a bit pissed if my guitars got more wow's than lol's, they arnt meant to be pretty, they are supposed to make an overweight , middle aged knackered dad of two feel like a rock star for a few short bursts of bar chord rocking every other night. If I had the prettiest, most attractive, most beautiful guitar in the world hung over my big flabby wrinkly torso it would still receive Lol's.

Well, cheers very much @LuttiS - that was my first partscaster effort, finished in 2011. Nice light, one-piece swamp ash body from guitarbuild.co.uk. If I was doing it again, I'd probably take your advice and avoid the gold hardware. Also I'd not bother with the middle strat pickup, and perhaps have a tort pickguard, to make it more of a straight ahead classic tele. But it's still a nice guitar as is - it has made to spec alnico 3 pickups from a chap in the states. I once got the chance to compare it against a friend's genuine 1953 tele, through a nice Fender Deluxe amp, and tone-wise it was surprisingly close, and didn't disgrace itself at all. But people with partscasters always say things like that don't they?
