Stuck in Feltham for half an hour on the train home tonight. Why? Trespasser on the tracks ahead, so the power has to be turned off so that a security team can escort the person safely off the tracks.

I'm pretty certain the safety of the trespasser was not the main concern of the hundreds and hundreds of people trying to use the Waterloo-Staines-Reading line this evening. :s

I’m going to run over the next space cadet that walks out in front of me while talking on their phone. Slammed on three times today. The second one was while test driving someone else’s car.

When you’re driving on a single-track country road, and someone turning out of a side lane sees you coming but still pulls out in front of you, then dawdles along at literally half the speed you were going at, and will not pull into any passing space to let you past. For about five miles...

I was finally able to overtake where the road widens slightly - only about half a mile before the main road, but I thought it was worth making the point.

Small beer compared to Vim’s one, but that sort of lack of common courtesy really pisses me off.
Should be an instant ban.  Same as lorries etc at roundabouts who don' have priority and know full well you will have to stop so as not to hit them after they pull out at 1 mph.

Driving through Bracknell. Stuck in traffic jam for 45 minutes. The reason? Surrey council have decided to give the grass on the central reservation a trim. Why not do it at night? Even better, why not tarmac it. Cunts. It’s really taken the gloss off my NPD.
Was exactly the same the previous day as the "work"men were litter picking that central reservation in readiness for the mowing. Of course there were 2 people litter picking the three/four mile coned off stretch of road and about 12 others having a chat by their vans.

I’m a driving instructor for my sins. Going down a two lane, 40mph road today, (at the speed limit, pupil doing nothing wrong) and some Cambridge University Netball Team person in a BMW turned left directly in front of my pupil....FROM THE RIGHT HAND LANE...missing us by inches.

I did a bit of swearing.

Do you find cyclists on road (racer) bikes are worse than mountain bikers? I'm a mountain biker:)

I find they are both equally adept at whinging about car drivers, then whizzing straight through red lights. It seems all cyclists are only interested in the Highway Code when it suits them. I’m sure you’re a magnificent cyclist though.  ;)

Had a cement mixer delivered today, bought off eBay.  It's a very sturdy and heavy bit of kit.
BUT, the nuts, bolts and washers had escaped their press-seal bag and were loose in the carton.  The carton had suffered a puncture during transit and I'm missing a few bits...they've escaped !  Called the supplier and all very good, but it will be Monday before replacement bits will be sent.....grrr, wanted to do some work with it this weekend.

Needing to make a second journey to B&Q because some idiot used a non-galvanised bolt in an outdoor light fitting to save 2p, meaning I had to use a screw extractor/drill to replace the bulb. Idiots.

Bracknell is in Berkshire not Surrey. ;)  Although we get the same “lane closed due to grass cutting” thing in Surrey too, sigh.

Had band practice at 10am today, so I got up three hours early to do a simple job on the new car - change the boot struts.

Annoyance #1 - Turns out that well-thought-out Japanese engineering doesn't extend to realising that gas struts are going to lose their oomph eventually, and thus might need replacing. Turns out that the ball end bolt attaches to the strut in such away that it's basically impossible to release it.

Annoyance #2 - Turns out the bolt is glued into the tailgate. This is combined with the fact that the hex part of it appears to be made out of cheese (I assume that they only made it look like it was designed to be removed as some sort of engineering humour). My eye has begun to twitch at this point.

Annoyance #3 - The standard solution to this is to cut off the bolt between the "nut" part and the ball end (stop laughing at the back), then heat up the bolt with a small blowtorch to melt the glue. However, even though the "nut" part appears to be made of cheese, from that point out it appears to be made out of some kind of ultra-hard titanium-like substance and is thus hacksaw-resistant from every angle. The eye twitch has become a throbbing vein on the side of my head.

Annoyance #4 - I try to approach it from a different angle, and figure that cutting the housing for the ball end would release it. The only result is that the black paint on it is slightly scratched, but I've also managed to scratch the paint on the inside of the tailgate now. Not only have I failed to remove even one of the boot struts, I now have a second job to prime and respray that bit so that it doesn't rust.

I am now in a full-blown hate spiral, and it's only 9:20am...and I'm yet to actually load the gear into the car, which was the whole damn point of fixing the boot struts.

Mercifully, practice went OK, so I at least didn't have to kill anyone.
