Essex Recording Studios buying these all up to flip at 3 times the price next week.
With additional "provenance" of a badly photo-shopped image of Jimi and Dave both holding the guitar whilst jamming with Miles and unicorns flying around.

really rich people really a bunch of cunts aren't they! at least some of their ill gotten wonga is going to good causes for a change, but a million dollars for an old D 35?  wondering what the black strat will go for - it's an old strat, nowt more or less.

I don't think they're buying it thinking it will be a particularly better guitar for them to play themselves, it's purely buying a legend's main instrument.

Remember though, to most people in the world, it's just as mind blowing that normal British people spend hundreds of pounds on guitars.

    Great minds, eh?

Ah nice, wish I'd have known about that.

Don't suppose you have the ability (and will) to re-broadcast the stream the way people sometimes do for football matches that aren't on British TV? ;)

it's uber rich twats to me - an old strat (that played some of my favourite tacks ever) that will be put in a glass case and revered like a medieval religious  relic while real guitars are being thrashed by real people in actual places

Well, that guy in Canada (Pasqual?- plays, worth 4Bn) is said to have already stated he intends to go 'all the way' on the red or black strat. At least he'd play it. He was the guy who built a 'replica' pulse rig.

Feels like that guitar should have hit more, and Christie's screwed up with their strategy.

I'd agree - I expected over $500k for the Les Paul, I think they put that too early or too close to the 0001 Strat.

The Broadcaster, was definitely a good price - relatively

Pete, Lot 50 is the one I fell in love with. Christie's haven't worked out that it's the first ever LPB Fender guitar.

James, the solo on ABITW was NOT played on a Broadcaster!
