In truth, my meagre stable is at about the lowest head count it's been since I joined this merry band of madcap funsters.

    1972 Fender Telecaster thinline*
    1975 Fender Mustang
    2004 Gibson Les Paul Standard
    2007 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster
Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster (heavily modified)
    Feline Lion Cub DC Junior
    Peerless La Mode archtop
    Yamaha FS720S acoustic

and, incoming, a DuPont Bebop archtop

  • 2 electric, one acoustic, and one bass.

    Consisting of:

    Telemaster partscaster hybrid thingy

St Blues Blindsider Custom (basically a mash up of an HSS Strat and a bound body telecaster)

    A cheap POS Fender acoustic

    Ibanez SR500 bass

Currently gassing hard for a MiJ ES-335 of some kind, but can't get the money together sadly!

I'm very close to that.  Hard to be exact, a few are completely unplayable so I'm not sure they count, and there are a lot of unassembled parts...

Over the last 10-15 years, I somehow managed to amass 50+ guitars that I really didn't need, and mostly didn't play.

They spent most of their time  hidden away in cases with me fearing an imminent visit from the RSPCG accusing me of neglect.

But now, after my recent Closing Down sale,  I've just left with the hardcore few.

The one I'll never sell ...

... because it's the best guitar I've ever played.

The one I just bought ...

... because it'd be mad to sell the one I just bought!

    The one-I-bought-before-the-one-I-just-bought ...

    image

... which is a really nice sounding acoustic already.

    My youngest ...

... which does now have strings.

     The triplets ...

... covering the single coil, P90 and humbucker options.

Still got the odd Kawai or 15 ...

... but they don't count as they're really a "collection".

So, I count 7 (excluding the Kawais).

Which must mean there are just another 40 or so hidden away in cases.

(I wasn't very good at the Closing Down sale).

After years of buying/trying/selling I've come to realise I only need 5:

    Strat (Fender USA)
    Tele (Fender MIM)
    Super Strat (Ibanez S470)
    Super Tele  (EBMM Axis)

And an acoustic (Yamaha LL6) for strumming around the house.

5? I'm not sure that 25 would be enough for me.

    I currently own:

    Fender JD Tele
    Fender Modified Japanese Strat
    Giffin Tele
    K-Line Truxton (Tele type)
    Wudtone Strat
    3 x Musicman Silhouettes
    2 x Gibson 335
    Gibson L4
    Gibson 175 (1951)
    Gibson 330
    Ibanez PM100
    Yamaha Acoustic
    Ibanez SWR 6 String Bass
    Warwick Thumb Bass

I am pleased to say that I actually play most of them fairly regularly.

15 guitars, want me to list them?

    Yamaha MSG Deluxe,
Yamaha SG175 - rare, only 500 ever built,.............. Carlos Santana probably had most of them
    Yamaha Revstar RSP20CR
Yamaha NCX1200R - electro classical guitar
    Gibson Les Paul Standard
    2 x PRS Custom 22's
    Fender Stratocaster
    Gabriella Carrillo Concert classical guitar
    Petersen Concert classical guitar
    Alhambra Electro-classical guitar, model 9 P E8
    Faith Lyra Electro classical
    Faith Neptune electro acoustic
    Lowden O32
    Lowden S34

The Lowden S34 is interesting in that George Lowden himself built two of them, and they were the only two in existence, however, i've since found out that one of them is no longer in existence, so mine is unique - looks well played but sounds and plays like a dream, as does the O32.

I can post pictures if anyone's interested   :-)
