Hi everybody.

I'm new here. I'm going to lie, I joined on the recommendation of a friend - Lewis Hamilton, as I'm selling my Les Paul. That said, I will likely join in with other conversations....I can't seem to avoid doing so!!

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

My name, basically. My first name is Adrian, my surname begins with a J and I was born in 1981....I know, not very imaginative.

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

I am in Leeds in Yorkshire, England.

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To enjoy my playing and to have a band that gets occasional gigs that fit around my job as a paramedic.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

If I have to pick just one, then I'm going to go with my Fender Custom Vibrasonic amp - basically a 65 Twin RI circuit tweaked by Bruce Zinky and running through a 1x15" speaker....has Blackface tone in spades and is lighter than a normal Twin.

Hi, I'm here to be one of those people who annoy me on other forums, by joining (in the short term) to use the classifieds. Having said that, I did the same on a cycling forum about 10 years ago, and in the meantime got flatmates, a cat, advice on work and housing, and a couple of cycling clubs out of it, so I might not just be here to exploit the place!

It's just my initials, I'm afraid - I like to think my parents couldn't decide, wrote the birth certificate, and filled in the rest later.

I'm in London, and I've been here a third of my life, but I'll never be from London - I'm always going to be from the North West.

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To be in a band again, and find the time and excuse to write songs.

I think it's my 1984 Tokai Breezysound - the same guitar I'm trying to find a friend (not replacement) for

Too hard to say - maybe The Lady Don't Mind by Talking Heads, though the guitar is a bit basic - favourite song to play is probably The Wild Kindness by Silver Jews.

Hello! I'm Oliver, 32, and I live in Middleton in Greater Manchester. I first picked up a guitar about 25 years ago - lessons in primary school. 16 years ago, I got my first electric guitar and have been crap at it ever since. It's been a cycle of fits and starts where I end up giving up because I'm not instantly good at it. For the past year or so, I've been trying to be less anxious about it and just have fun!

I just like stupid spoonerisms. I once saw a dude online with the username "rinkystingpiece" and spent about three days laughing

Middleton, Greater Manchester - about five or six miles north of Manchester city centre. Just moved here with my Mrs a month ago.

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To start a doom metal two-piece with my Mrs, who is a drummer, and to have fun with it!

Probably my Greco Les Paul. It's either a PC-98K or a JS-98K. I know many think it's a sacrilege to have a trem on a Les Paul, but I'd wanted a Kahler since being 17 (thanks, Slayer and Suffocation)

So hard to answer! I've thought of multiple whilst writing out the answers to the other questions, but I think I'll have to plump for Liege of Inveracity by Suffocation - they managed to spawn about three subgenres of death metal with that one song. They should probably apologise.

An early '88 E4 serial Strat Plus.  It's not necessarily the best as I've been fortunate enough over the years to own or play many expensive instruments, but this was my first electric guitar and will always feel like home. If not for its theft many years ago, this mantle would have been occupied by a '78 Lowden O22.

I don't have one in particular, so for today I'll opt for Frank Zappa's Zoot Allures.
