Looks suspiciously like the Korg Nu:tekt pedal kits from a while ago…

Similar... and still available. But quite different at the same time...

The video had me all hyped until I heard the pedal demos and remembered I don’t like Klon(e)s at all.

Be interesting to see if they extend the idea and make other kits.

  • I like it and think I'll order one, but I do love the Klone sound so like to try different ones.

I really like that white amp Josh plays through in his demos.

I think that amp is just a prop now as he has publicly moved to kemper profiles of his Sovteks and Bassman. I didn’t see this video though so maybe he went back for this one.

  • Looks like great fun. I'm getting one for my eldest grand daughter and will get one also for myself.
Had a silver Klon, didn't like it, but this is a genius bit of marketing.
Love it, and the YouTube vid is a lot of fun.
If I had talent, I'd be talented.
    Red meat and functional mushrooms.
    Persistent and inconsistent guitar player.
A lefty, hence a fog of permanent frustration

Not enough guitars, pedals, and cricket bats.

I just want one to collect and for the novelty factor lol It's so silly.
Why is it silly ? I have a lot of pedals that have been bought  as collectibles in my collection.
    Same with guitars and amps.

It's silly because i am purposely trying to stop spend money on things that sits there....and for actual Klones I have 3 already.

I never said it is silly for you, it is silly for me.

Ordered one - £116 delivered, not bad for a fun build your own Klone that sounds exactly like an original and looks cool.

I absolutely hate ads that use kids, but I hate even more ads that treat us like kids: I know what a fucking volume does!

Mine was £116 also but you should probably be ready for a 20% VAT import duty bill from UPS when it clears UK customs before they will deliver it.

Under £135 so should be exempt.

What a way to kick original Klon owners in the nads. Make a toy version of it, price it dirt cheap and get it to sound pretty much the same.

@DuploLicks What's with the LOL for my post above re £135?

    https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

    He said "

    Read the link above.

You will not have to pay anything to the delivery company to receive goods worth less than £135 unless they’re gifts over £39 or excise goods (for example, alcohol and tobacco).

What's LOL about that? Last I check UPS is a delivery company, no?

My apologies I didn’t realise I’d pressed it! Fat fingers on a small phone. I agree with your point made. Enjoy the pedal when it comes :)

So the PCB is stuffed and soldered, so all you have to do is snap it, and screw it in, tighten the knobs and jacks etc? Cool idea but that renders it novelty

Kind of agree, but there's already plenty of kits out there for people to solder if they want to. This absolutely has novelty appeal, but is more accessible to those who want the enjoyment of putting something together yet don't have the skills and/or confidence to solder things.

    "Renders it novelty"

So because it wasn't soldered together in a sweatshop in the far east, it isn't to be taken seriously as a good sounding pedal?

Or if you had to solder everything together yourself that makes it somehow more legit?

Its a strange comment to make, mate... it makes it 'fun', IMHO. The fact it sounds (in the vid, at least) pretty much the same as a massively-overhyped $5k pedal kinda makes it a lot more than just a novelty in my book...
