@clarky - haha, I didn't expect that!

What are you doing these days? Still IT and guitar in you spare time? Gigging a lot? I checked your site/youtube for live vids a couple weeks ago but never found too many.

I'm still doing the same stuff basically..

I haven't gigged for more than a year now..

the DC Band hasn't toured for some time.. however we've just finished recording a new album.

once that's released it'll be nice if we can get out on the road again..

the year before last I got back together with a funky band I was in 20 years ago and we recorded and released an album.. which imho is superb.. although not the flashiest, certainly has some of the nicest playing I think I've ever done..

these days I'm working mostly with a trailer writing team.. all hybrid orchestral stuff..

How did Shredz at an Exhibition do in terms of sales etc? I'm going to release something myself, though it's not going to be anywhere near the same quality level (basic drums, if that, not too much mastering etc).

It's a superb CD (on itunes too) and very different from Shredz

haa... Shredz did pretty well.. my hope was that it'd at least break even.. and it did quite a bit better than that..

where Shredz is full of flashy playing and has me red-lining my technique in places... the Civilians album is totally the opposite.. the parts are more built around the needs of the song.. so although they are completely different animals, they are equally deeply thought about with respect to what's being played and this don't mean that the Civs album is lacking in the fun stuff.. just the fun guitar stuff is something added to the song rather than being the principle feature..

in some ways, the Civ's album just just as difficult.. it just a bit more subtle about it..

jeez... Clakry being subtle.. is there actually any such thing??? that has to be all lies.. lmao
