    In all seriousness, MD Phillips is a sort of an eccentric genius.  I can't think of anyone else who has thought of converting 7 or 12 string guitars to 6 stringers.  That's quite innovative.

    whilst I didn't think of it myself, a few years ago I did convert a six-string acoustic to a four-string tenor acoustic for a customer who did have huge hands, he was very pleased with it :)

    whilst I didn't think of it myself, a few years ago I did convert a six-string acoustic to a four-string tenor acoustic for a customer who did have huge hands, he was very pleased with it :)
    Did he have big working hands or was he just a guy with clumsy sausage fingers that could do with more space to create?

    Seriously, I'd say MD Phillips would go out of his way to make you happy with any guitar you bought off him.  He's loveable!

    He seemed quite a decent guy but wouldn't take advice from experienced luthiers and basically labelled all of them 'bodgers'.

    His spat with Octatonic was particularly entertaining though.

    The man Mr Sporky changed his life priorities/interests around quite a bit.  Guitars now play a far less central role in his life, and guitar forums even less so.

    I last met up with him towards the end of last year, and he's very happy thank-you-very-much.


    And, yes, I still miss his inputs here too.
