  • Kevin the Cloud. He appears overhead to warn of impending issues with planning permission, swedish factories and late design choices.

Sounds like the workshop is going to be awesome though. What are you planning to make in it? Or is the making of the workshop the main goal?

Nah - if it was, I'd be doing much more of it myself. It'll get all the woodworking machinery, and I will get on with a load of guitar makery as well as some more box making, lathery and such.

You have a wonderfully ridiculous dog.

That's true, but she's in both photos.

Today on her second walk some stuck up toffe said "Oh, a scruffy-dog".

To which I replied "She's Kennel Club. Mind your tone".

I gather I caused some offence, based on said toffe's facial expression.

    Have a guess.

Hmmm, the dog's moved? You cut the grass?

  • You bought some tools! And for some reason filled your wheelbarrows with bricks.

The old shed is gone, as have some small bamboo-type plants.
What is my fucking prize, bitch?

The elevation in the second photo is different. We're you wearing heels when you took that one?
Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

    That's art!

This whole thread is a Turner Prize entry. The wheelbarrows symbolise something.

    It's buried.

    In your garden. :)

Electrician is booked and the groundwork guys have tidied and extended the clear section a little. All set for the building now, so not much happening for two weeks. Then it's all go again.

Someone built a house the other side of that fence, and then relic'd it to make it look like it had been there for years.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

You put up a new fence.  Nice work!

Foundations go in tomorrow. They're funny self-levelling concrete pile things - look a bit like sections of Toblerone.

I will endeavour to provide photographic updates as it happens.

They've arrived - quite cunning, they lay out the entire floor so you can judge the space around it properly. Going for 600mm clearance on one side, 1500mm on the other, and 1000mm at the back. Those boards are as long as the workshop will be wide.

That's what's known in these parts as 'a big bas***d!'

I am suffering from severe workshop envy....

Floor is laid out - it'll shift back 300mm from here, as the back fence is even less square than I thought, so 600mm clearance at the right, about 1600mm to the left, and 600-1000mm at the back.

It looks a lot smaller here than it is - a lot of foreshortening going on. I think there will be adequate space.

One of the foundations chaps said this was the flattest and best prepared site he'd ever seen. Yay me. Well, yay the groundworks people Lady BMcH found.
