On my long drive back from Yorkshire this afternoon, my shuffle rediscovered this fantastic album. One of my favorites of last year

As bad add this sounds for a Led Zep fan, I've never really listened to their albums in their album formats... I own II and Physical Grafitti but the rest I've got in collection CDs. Today I started to fix that and had III on for my work related train journey from Schiphol to Assen. The slower / quieter tunes were perfect. Superb.

Toto IV is a big fav of mine too. I'm a bit selective with Phil era Genesis but I'm not against it.

Toto IV might be one of my top five albums of all-time.

The Genesis came up because I thought I'd try one of those automatically-curated daily playlists on Spotify, and it was doing some Phil-era Genesis and I just realised I hadn't listened to those records in a long time so popped the whole thing on.

Listened to The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips end to end on a long car journey today, first time in ages, it really is a masterpiece.

  • Super Furry Animals, a band I saw live 3 times in the 90s but whose albums I never owned for some weird reason. Probably because albums were 16 quid unless I could find them in those HMV / Our Priçe two for a tenner deals. Such a great live band. Never forget them opening with Feeder for the Manics in Cardiff on 31/12/99. Awesome. Man I must be getting old when I look back on the late 90s with waves of nostalgia.

The latest track from Marnie (she of Ladytron fame) is absolutely great. A lesson in music of this ilk. Figure on this being up your street @Moss too.
