Duane Allman An Anthology Volume 1- The Allman Brothers don't really do it for me although I love his guitar playing. But this is his session stuff. Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Clarence Carter etc. I Don't have Vol 2 on Vinyl yet but I'll be getting it for this. Killer version of the Dr John tune.

I spent a day at a speaker and amplifier manufacturer yesterday, listening to carefully curated selections of dull music. They refused to put Spotify through so that (a) I could hear tracks I actually know, and (b) I could hear some orchestral, some choral, some aggressive electro, some over-polished dance and some harder rock and metal. Their justification? Spotify is compressed. Yeah, so is most of what people will play through the installed systems...

So today I have been jumping between extremes just to wash away the bland mediocrity of yesterday.

I have been obsessively listening to the new Royal Blood album, and also Dorje's "Centred and One EP" (which in my opinion is a huge step ahead of the "Catalyst EP"), I respect Rob Chappers on a whole new level because I LOVE this EP!! 

I have also played Cheap Trick's new one a few times but there's some great songs, and many not so great...
