Cheers J. I'm buzzing with positivity so it's not just a physical thing.

  • Another 6.5km.  Getting faster and not as knackered at the end of it.

Going to step up in distance soon I hope.

    103km + 5km = 108km

(Easter target Carterton - Darlington: I'm 5 miles north of Watford Gap on the M1)

  • 96 + 7.5 + 10 = 113.5km total

10km earlier today was brutal weather wise. Wind with light rain which progressed to sleet and hail at one point before very heavy rain. Glad to be back indoors!

  • Really really really tough 10 miles. Running at a slower pace than normal really seems to batter my body.

  • Started the week on 69k.
6k Monday, 7 Thursday, 8 today. Puts me on 90k so far.
Really enjoyed today's effort, I went up through the old town to the Castle & Calton Hill.  Beautiful day here.
8k Sunday, 7 yesterday and 7 today. 112 done thus far.
Today was a bit rough, freezing cold & dark when I went out this morning- I knew I had to get out early as I've been at a kids party most of the day.
Working tomorrow morning means another 10k first thing- I left my bike at work on Friday as an excuse to run to collect it.

    112+ 10(Sunday) 5(weds) 19today= 146 total.
Slow week for me (apart from today when I did extra to keep my total going).
I started weight training & mma sparring resumed so I was too sore to run much.
My target could be harder to reach than I thought!

I never run on a Sunday. My feet are itching though. I'm going to get off the sofa later and get a 5k in.

    Longer one today.
    Feb 5th: 155km + 9km = 164km.

Need a day off, I think.

Nice one. I was going to do a longer one today but 6 runs a week only 6 weeks in is enough I think.
    108km + 5km = 113km.

First long run in a long while today.  18.7km makes it 60km for the week and 192km this year.

My legs are sore now but probably not as sore as some friends who ran the Pilgrims challenge ultra.  33miles on Saturday then the same again today!

I think a day off is due.

I think I know what's wrong. Well, two things:

    1. Running at an uncomfortably slow pace, so I'm not really relaxed. I can't speed up though, I just wouldn't last the distance.
    2. My regular run is 5 miles, 6 at a push. I need to get back to morning running. When I was running well a few years ago, a regular run was 7 miles, bridging the gap more towards my long runs.

I may chuck the Newport Half, I don't see the point if I'm not going to enjoy it and I'm not being sponsored.

After a cold related week off, got out this morning for 3km before taking the kids to school.

    42km total now.

Need to do a bit more to get back on target.

I'm determined to get fit and lose a bit of weight this year so I'm in!

I am aiming for Luxembourg City - 650km away!

  • Another 6.5km.  Bloody cold.

I did think about adding in a lap of the local reservoir, but as I got to the fork in the path I thought "Fuck it, I'm knackered.  Next time!"
