That's what I said to Mrs_bob. Gill Biggeloe in S5 got a shit council house in a dumpy looking seaside town, Jo Davidson got a stone cottage somewhere very expensive looking. How's that fair?

But yeah, it was all a bit underwhelming in the end.

I like the show, but the one thing that really hacks me off no end is the pointless and obvious trying to hide a suspects identity to the very last minute. And whilst it was kinda fun once, do they have to keep doing it all the fucking time?!?

(I'd really like to see Kelly MacDonald in a happy or comedy role for once, she's ace at angst and tears. At least Sean Bean doesn't die in the Sharpe series

She had quite an entertaining cameo role in the one and only series of Truth Seekers.

Hmmm... it was certainly a downbeat ending. But it seemed somehow appropriate that H should turn out to be someone... a bit crap, rather than Moriarty, the Napoleon of Crime. With the implication that he was really a relatively small cog.

Does the ending suggest another series? Maybe.

I couldn't work out whether the ending was meant to tie it up for good or not- Hastings retired, Arnott off Action Man duties with a bad back and AC-12 being wound up too. On the other hand, they clearly hadn't got the top man within the Police even if they did have "H", and they've been setting up the Chief Inspector as a wrong 'un for the whole series.

Without some serious handwaving (on top of the handwaving to get Arnott and Hastings back in place) they'd need to have Carmichael as a permanent fixture next series too, which would make it a very different show.

Agree with much of the above, somewhat of a lame ending - A bit like going to a great gig and for the encore they play 'London Bridge is falling down' and we all have a sing song
