Here's a really stupid question and it's about the IR files. 

I have some IRs taken from a Yamaha SPX90. One particular setting (Reveerse Gate, L8, room size 20) pretty much is the classic MBV reverse guitar sound. 

Could I load that into the cab block and use it as a reverse reverb sound? I know it sounds utterly ridiculous but if it would work, then that would be a huge thing for me.

You could load it but it would be truncated to 2048 and therefore reaaaaally short. So not really no

Oh well. I thought it unlikely. One day there will be a pedal out there that can load lengthy IR files that isn't the Logidy

I don't think any of the modellers on the market currently loads long 'reverb' style IRs.

I love my Helix, like my FX8 and like my Kemper. What I really want to do though is stick all 3 in a blender and create a bastard child touting the best of all three.
The Helix's interface and simplicity teamed with the best sounds of all three plus the ability to profile or load amps would be, well, killer.

Put your kemper in a helix loop. Then you have blended those two. Kemper profiles with helix routing and fx. Those FX loops make helix a beast.

Hadn't considered that. Could you put the Kemper in one loop and the fx8 in another for a huge, massive uber modeller? 

If someone has already done this, I wanna see a helix profiled by a Kemper

The manual on the stick is for the old firmware gents, you can download the new one from the website

Got a link mate ? I couldn't find the LT version.

There isn't a specific LT manual 
but it is the same engine with a slightly different UI to cope with the scribble strips

So, initial set up question...

Does your Helix colour the sound plugged into an amp ? 

I appreciate there is always adjustment and the nkering needed with digital stuff; out of the box straight into the Rambler (with no amp block) the amp is 'dulled'.

Any setup thoughts and advice ?

The input block has multiple impedance settings.

If you want it to sound like your amp input then probably needs to be set to the 1Meg setting.

If you leave it on 'auto' it sets the input impedance to model the impedance of the first block in your helix chain

Got my Helix LT now. So I'm officially a lightweight and not a fatty.

So far I've done the firmware update to 2.20. Is it just me - I find this sort of exercise pretty stressful. As it happens, the update all went very smoothly.

I had a bit of a scroll through the presets, but I'm going to really get stuck into it over the weekend. It looks good - like a black monolith.
