Gibson are making huge favor to Dean.

I totally forget that this brand exists and now I read everywhere about it, thanks to Gibson’s letter. 

Its like Gibson saying: “Hey, check this inexpensive brand, they are making very good copies of our overpriced instruments. Have an authentic Gibson at the fraction of the price but hurry up because we are going to the court with them”.

Gibson are being mercilessly trolled on social media. Comments on the new REO Speedwagon guy’s Axess model include “looks like a Dean xxxxx model” and “no thanks, I’ll wait for the Dean copy” etc etc. Would hate to be working on their social team!

Seriously, only a total fuckwit would mistake a  guitar with a different logo on the headstock for an authentic Gibson.

Sure, it was an ill thought out video, but who apart from a few guitar nerds on fora or boring Youtube channels  will have ever seen it?

Most buyers buying into the "romance" of a real Gibson guitar that their heroes played won't give a fig for corporate policy or announcements.

Guitar nerds, aren't they the people that buy lots of guitars? After years of grumblings about Gibson, QC, dealership issues, etc, etc, they new guys come in and say, "I know let's turn the company into a laughing stock"

This isn't Gibson's finest hour.

Thing is, a lot of the guitar community have picked up on it...the damage has been done. They are getting trolled left right and centre on social media and a lot of the online demo guys and girls are having their say. Plus, it is in the guitar-related online news....

Possibly the weirdest/stupidest thing they've done in a long time.

I've never wanted to own a Gibson and I'm even more determined to do so.
Apart from my SG but I bought that at a knockdown price because it had a broken headstock and I think the guy needed another bag of heroin as a matter of urgency.
