Yes pretty much. Details like the selvedge seams are analogous to Gibson nibs I think, a relic of old manufacturing methods but they "matter" to afficionados.

This whole thing has gone quite big.  One of the Youtube videos someone did responding to this was at 159k views last night.

I've also seen a lot comments and jokes about it on Facebook.

Gibson really have shot themselves in the foot with it.
