It makes a lot of sense to me. There are 127 chances for a few mortals to buy their way into rock immortality and while it might not be any of us, there are plenty of people out there for whom $100,000 or even $1,000,000 is a disposable amount.

I do wonder ... I was able to register to bid without any real verification. I could technically bid up to $75k without even showing them a credit card.

I only really did that so I could take a punt on something sub $2k, or try and get in to view the lots pre-auction (which I didn't end up doing anyway).
