  • I thought it was pretty good. RW is one of my favourite guitarists.

How on Earth does he still hold down a spot in a Stones concert unless as often suggested there's a team of ringers playing under the stage.
Because Ronnie is a more capable guitarist that Keith.
Wasn't Mick Taylor fired for being better than Keith? :)

That was the rumour. Nowadays it’s no contest. Based on recent live footage I won’t be going to see either Keith or Mick

  • Thought it was great. What else would you expect with Ronnie - a perfectly polished performance? It’s rock n’ roll innit.

You lot really are a bunch of moaners. What were you expecting? Steve Vai pyrotechnics?

It's an old rocker doing what they do - nowt wrong with that IMHO!

Keith can hardly play these days .. Woody is great on slide.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

From everything I've read or heard them say, it's always because Mick Taylor just didn't enjoy the grind and the drugs and all anymore.

There was a timing issue in the intro riff and overall it was played with a “stonesy” looseness but I enjoyed it. Frankly I wish I could play like he does at 72 (after a lifetime of booze and fags)  and I’m half his age.
    And crystal meth

He's not really a singer but the guitar playing wasn't bad. It's quite physically demanding to sing while maintaining downpicking at that speed, I think that's where the funny faces are coming from
Indeed, I do think the singing had an influence on his playing a bit. Probably also why he didn’t connect as much with Imelda, he’s usually such an irreverent cheeky chappy!

I actually quite liked his singing and jerky moves.  The guitar playing wasn't laid back and behind the beat. It was nervous and only just making the notes.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

Most of the old footage and vids topofthepops stuff is really obviously mimed. There was a stones programme on the other night and hardly any of the songs were being played live. They're just arsing around most of the time. He always did look like he was having a laugh though.

  • There was also a bit, must have been 70s or 80s, where Mic says he'll only be performing for another 5 years.  :)

.the.. crowd went wild when Jeff Beck sauntered out to join him...until everyone realised it was actually Ronnie.
Easy mistake to make when they share a syrup...

Always got those two mixed up.

In fact, it always takes me a while to remember if it's Ronnie wood or Keith Richards that looks like Jeff Beck so there's always confusion when one of them shows up without introduction.

Suppose I should look at the bassist, if it's a man it's not Jeff Beck.
