They’ve put a teaser video with a flightcase on their Facebook page. Anyone know anything? It looks like a tone print based pedal board.

    The name indicates 5 footswitches.

  • I'm guessing a toneprint all-in-one style pedalboard.

I'm shocked they haven't gone into the amp sim/cab sim world....

True but that flightcase is bigger than a Nova. Unless that guy holding it has tiny hands. I hope it’s not some super compact thing. Otherwise you need a midi controller and all that gubbins.

    I think it's this:

So that’s what line in, stereo out, an FX loop and expression pedal jack with midi. Hmmmmm.

Video up in half an hour:

Was really hoping that this would include some analogue drives, a la Boss ME5, but I don't think that's going to happen.

  • To be fair, that thing is very small, neat and tidy. I'm expecting £400, but that is dangerously close to HX Effects/Stomp etc.

So only the Toneprint pedals, not the analogue drives and boosts.

The way they've phrased the figures is a bit confusing too. I think they mean:

127 virtual pedalboards of up to 5 effects.

Each "digital stompbox" (model of a particular TC pedal) can store up to 75 Toneprints.

So presumably you pair it up with a channel switching amp (that you can't control with it?) or a couple of dirt pedals and you've got a fairly compact pedalboard setup.

Pricewise if it isn't competitive with the HXFX and Boss MS-3 it's going nowhere.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

  • No drives, but has an insert function and 4CM, so you can place the TonePrint FXs anywhere you want.

Looks pretty easy to use from that demo vid, but no mention of Midi, or price.

Question remains why have they waited so long to release something like this.

  • I like the look of it.  How do the Toneprint effects compare with the Helix?

This is what Eventide should do with the H9.

No tuner or drives, but it looks interesting  :)

It has MIDI I/O on the back panel. How much you can do with it, and whether you can use it as a MIDI controller for other pedals isn't clear yet.

I wonder how big the discussion was on whether the poly should be included.

I think it would sell better with it.  Otherwise it is an 'all in one' where you need another pedal.

According to the TC website it does actually have a tuner, which is cool!

But in the demo video they use a polytune next to it?

  • 127 pedalboards just means 127 presets for the whole unit - think of it as like a preset on the Helix or Axe FX or something.

    I'm very sold on this.

    Bye!
