.... just heard via a couple of friends that Mr Cruz might no longer be with FCS.... don't want to say anything libellous and can't find much online to prove it accurate. But his bio has disappeared from FCS 'builders' on their website when I just checked.

anybody heard anything? I'm not on Instagram or Facebook (apparently social media might have caused this, if it is indeed true).

he was def on their website a month or two back cos I was looking. Am sure he was showing off some FCS masterbuilts at NAMM too. I could be wrong though.

If this is genuine, then I'm not surprised John has been politely asked to leave. If it is not genuine then Fender and/or John should really make it known.

He can say what he like, the law can’t jail him for his comments. However his employers are not the same and often holds a higher standard because unless you are the current 1600 PA resident, Breitbart or Alex Jones, your company and corporate image is held to a higher standard and your employees, especially when they are a face of the company, also are too.

Was it “just” the pic and the offensive joke. If so, I think he’s been stupid but paid a very heavy price for it. I reckon he just thought he was being amusing and didn’t think enough about it. It was in very poor taste but I don’t think he’s racist (could be wrong though). Cruz - Mexican, pretty down trodden over there? He loves his guitars and music and probably works and likes artists of all backgrounds and race probably doesn’t come into it. He’s also been a major player in Fender’s success over the last 20 years. I’ve got no evidence of knowledge of him though so maybe he is an out and out racist signed up to the KKK and all that.
